During the wedding ceremony, thirteen gold
coins (representing the Groom's dowry to his
Bride) are often blessed by the priest, and
passed between the hands of the newlyweds
several times before ending with the Bride.
A large rosary or white rope ("laso") is
sometimes wound around the couple's
shoulders in a figure-8 symbol of "infinity"
during the wedding ceremony to symbolize
their union as one. |
